- Boasting one of Edmonton's first Enomatic Wine Pouring and Preservation systems, The Bothy offers over 25 Wines and Sparkling Wines by the glass.

- We also have a system called Perlage which allows inexpensive or highly prized sparkling wines and Champagnes to be opened and continue to be served at the same 'just opened' quality for many weeks, which allows the Bothy to offer up to 6 Sparklings by the glass at any time.

- Less we not forget the wall of Whisky which plays host to a selection of over 120 Whiskies.

The Bothy Wine and Whisky Bar is a dream realised by Doug Townshend and his wife Irene, native Scots who have been living in Edmonton for over 30 years. Wine, Whisky and good food has been a passion for them over these years and the Bothy came to life out of their love for fine wines and the desire to offer a better selection of wines by the glass that could keep changing to give customers new options on a regular basis. Hence the Bothy has over 25 wines by the glass and a well stocked cellar with a few 'hard to find' wines by the bottle. Doug also enjoys the odd 'wee dram' (whisky), and it creates a huge presence at the Bothy with a bar gantry full of over 120 whiskies to choose from.

To help you find what your pallette is desiring and depending on what mood you are in on the day, we have Doug's nephew Chris Hughes on hand during the day time. At night, Andrew Walls our kilted Scotsman is available to give an encyclopedia of information or just a warm laugh while you enjoy your selection.

The Bothy is as it's name describes, first and foremost a bar, however we offer a carefully created simple menu by Kevin Ostapek and Angela Counsel that is designed to compliment your drink selection. Focusing on sharing style plates (amongst other things) of Cheeses and Charcuterie (both local and international), and a wonderful selection of savoury pies, the Bothy allows you to enjoy your company at whatever pace you choose as you savour each sip and mouthful.

We encourage a social atmosphere whether it be a great conversation with your bar person or good friends, in a comfortable warm atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. Should a table not be available, the bar can be the optimal place to linger and get in on all the information and conversation of all the wine and whisky on offer, of course while you have a drink in hand!
